High Knowes is an easy bagging with the added bonus of visiting the Shepherd's Cairn At Ewartly Shank.
From the parking in Alnham just head straight up the Salter's Road permissive towards Ewartly Shank, then head over to High Knowes. You should be able to see the Shepherd's Cairn from the top.
It's a 3.5km walk to High Knowes with a steady incline of 251m of climbing.
