The northern area of the Northumberland National Park is awash with beautiful rolling hills, so you're in for a treat when you start your hill bagging up here. One of the chunky hills up here is called Newton Tors.

Even better that it is adorned with a cairn so it's easily recognisable from a distance and there is also the Newton Tors Trig Point marking the top.

Newton Tors is actually made up of three outliers called Wester Tor, Easter Tor and Hare Law. For hill bagging the trig point next to Wester Tor is what you need to bag Newton Tors, but you may as well head over to the crags on Wester Tor to cover everything.

Once at the top, you'll have some spendid views to mull over as your legs recover and if you're lucky you may also catch a glimpse of the legendary wil goats of the Cheviots.

To get here the easiest way is to park at Hethpool and jump on to St.Cuthbert's Way. They follow the path up to the banks of Easter Tor, before heading over to the trig point next to Wester Tor.

Follow the route above or find it on OS Maps. Just under 7km and 456m of climbing.

Of course it's a canny way to come just to bag one hill, so here is a walk to Yeavering Bell and Newton Tors that will get you loads more.
