I've got to admit, Dour Hill wasn't one of my favourite baggings. Maybe because I had just been bagging other hills around Deel Hill earlier and my legs were sore, or it was late in the day or maybe it was the route I took up.
However bagging the Dour Hill trig point was an added bonus.
My route took me up through the forest to the locked gate and then I hugged the big fence, walking on a lot of muddy ground dispersed with tree debris, before following another fence up to the top, picking my way through even more tree debris and then thick heather.

When I came to write this one up, someone else suggested a better way of following the fence line on the outskirts of the woods instead with the path starting right next to the parking. Here is that route and you can decide which is best for yourself.
Follow the route above or find it on OS Maps. Just 2.5km and 182m of climbing.
Dour Hill is probably the only hill in the Cheviot 99 Challenge that you will bag on its own as it sits quite a way from other hills.
