Cold Law

The Cheviot Hill Naming Committee messed up again when naming this hill Cold Law as they must not have remembered they had already named one Cold Law next to Langleeford. So I have to call this one Cold Law Biddlestone.

I bagged this one at the same time as Silverton Hill and to be honest, getting over to Cold Law from there was a bit of a nightmare. I walked to the edge of Silverton Hill and there was just a ridiculous steep drop down and up again. So I had to head north on the permissive path up to Gills Law, crossing the Biddlestone Burn high up before heading over to Cold Law.

If you are hill bagging Silverton Hill at the same time, then there is no quick way across as there was loads of thick bracken around and fences to find gates for. Here is the route I took from Alwinton.

If you are already walking down near Biddlestone, then there is actually a path pretty much straight up to Cold Law. However there is no parking around here without being a nuisance to the farm vehicles.

However I found a shorter route to route to Cold Law starting from Alnham which is 6km and 323m of ascent if you prefer.
